Dynasty Spas uses a Gecko spa pack on some of the newer spa models with titanium flow through heater. Some models have a top skimmer with 2x 50 sq. ft. filters. Salt systems use the Gecko In.Clear bromine salt generator that require the Bromicharge bromine reserve.
Dynasty Spas recommends cleaning the replaceable cartridge filter by rinsing off with a garden hose at least monthly. The manufacturer also recommends keeping the water level in the spa at least 2″ above the skimmer and warns never to allow the water level to drop below the skimmer opening, as otherwise air may enter the lines which can damage the hot tub pump. Dynasty recommends to change the water in the spa at least every 3-4 months.
Tip from the manufacturer: When filling the spa with fresh water, fill it with water going through the filter.
Dual Filters: Dynasty spas with 2 filters side by side have the filters located in the corner, usually at the foot of the lounger for spas with a lounger. These filters have a threaded connection.
Regular filter cleaning is essential to prevent a dirty cartridge from decreasing the water flow and possibly prevent the spa from heating properly.
How to Clean and Replace the Dynasty Spa Cartridge Filter
Turn off power at the breaker first, then open the filter door and pull door towards the center of the hot tub until it opens all the way. Then unscrew the cartridge filters and remove. Clean them off with a garden hose (better with a pressure nozzle attached) or other filter cleaning device, then screw the clean cartridge(s) back into place in the filter enclosure and return the filter door to its original position. It is also recommended to use an overnight filter soak occasionally to restore the filter paper and open up clogged pores.
For Dynasty Spas that have a single filter with a floating weir type canister, turn of power, then remove the filter basket first. Remove cartridge and clean with garden hose. If using the overnight filter soak, be sure to rinse off filter thoroughly before replacing into spa. Never operate the spa without a filter.
For the single filter type, replace the basket weir in the filter canister once the cartridge has been replaced.
